Heidi Taylor’s metaphysical journey began with an unexpected awakening in the summer of 1997. Two weeks before the passing of Princess Diana, she began hearing a clear, persistent message: “Diana is going to die.” When the premonition came true—and similar messages continued over the following months—Heidi recognized that a profound intuitive channel had opened within her.

Soon after, her dreams became a place of instruction and initiation. A spirit guide named Walking Eagle appeared, sharing herbal knowledge and ancient Shamanic teachings. These nightly encounters marked the beginning of Heidi’s deeper connection to the unseen world.

Her late grandfather, Ellis—affectionately known as Bud—who passed in 1981, also began visiting her in vivid, lucid dreams. Heidi Taylor is a seasoned genealogist with more than 30 years of research experience and a long-standing commitment to helping individuals uncover their family bloodlines. Her expertise spans traditional records-based research, advanced DNA analysis, and complex cases involving adoption and unknown parentage. She is especially skilled in Brick Wall Research and has deep regional knowledge of the Great Lakes area Jewish and African American family history.

As the owner of A Positive Genealogy since 2010, Heidi has guided clients through some of the most challenging genealogical puzzles. Her work combines precision, strategy, and a strong understanding of both historical context and modern genetic tools. She is known for her ability to break through long-standing research barriers and provide clear, evidence-based conclusions.

Heidi’s professional background includes extensive community involvement and teaching roles. She served as an instructor for the Midwest Genealogy Center Brick Walls Group from 2018–2020 and taught Brick Wall classes for Genealogy KC from 2018–2019. She has volunteered with the Midwest Genealogy Center, the Kansas City Irish Festival genealogy program, and previously served on the board of the Jackson County Genealogical Society.

Her experience also includes assisting clients with DAR and SAR lineage applications, ensuring documentation meets the rigorous standards required for membership.
